Non-Gift Ideas

They don’t want anymore stuff. This is for them.

Donation

What is close to their heart? Find that charity and make a donation in their name. Most will send you something in the mail to commemorate your gift! To find reputable charities, visit Charity Navigator.

A Zoo Membership

Zoo Membership! The Nashville Zoo is a special place. This is a great gift for parents who say "our kids don't need anything!" Gift them a membership so they can always have something to do.

Cheekwood Membership

Ditto for Cheekwood! And it's not just for kids - they have beer garden events and live music. But yes, the pumpkin patch and year-round kid activities are always a good idea!

Invest in College

This is one of my favorite ideas. Grandparents always ask for ideas for Andi, and donating to her college fund is top of my list. But make sure you designate where it goes. Reach out to your bank and ask about specific accounts for this.

A Personal Stylist

This is such a fun idea! My friend Carson Love is a very talented stylist who is so great at assessing your wardrobe and helping you find outfits for what you already have. She will help you throw out items that you shouldn't hold onto, or find staple pieces to mix and max. She did my closet and I found so many outfits I didn't even know! Contact Carson for a gift card!

Commissioned Art by your kid

Art Smart: Melissa Laskaris runs a wonderful company called Art Smart - where she helps kids paint something for your home! Let me tell you - these aren't your average finger paintings. Andi did one and it was so so beautiful - it's hanging in our home! This would be a great gift for anyone!Join her mailing list for announcements about sessions.

A Photoshoot

We got this for grandparents a couple of years ago and it was their favorite gift. Find a local photographer (Might I suggest my friend and very talented photographer, Chelsea Rochelle) and ask about a gift card. Purchase a photo session with the grandkids and grandparents, or just an individual session!

The gift of organization!

Duos like The Home Edit made organizing so chic, and now you can give the gift of organizing! Check out companies like Neatly Balanced and The Neat Method for gift certificates. Kristy Edwards with Neatly Balanced is passionate about helping others - so at the core of her business is the idea that we can help each other. She helps you organize and then gets the items to charities who can put them to good use.

Symbolic Adoption

African Zoo animal adoption: This one is perfect for kids or adults. For the animal lover in your life - sponsor an animal and you'll get a stuffy in return!
