Who to call if you spot animal cruelty
The snow is going to be so much fun - and most of us are good people and will bring our animals inside from the elements — but not everyone deserves to have a pet. So if you are out and about and you see an animal stuck outside in these temps - DO SOMETHING.
I always hear from people “It’s none of my business.” It IS your business. If you could save the life of an animal in need - wouldn’t you do everything you could? I think the answer is yes. So here’s a list - broken down by county - of animal rescues, animal control & humane societies in Middle Tennessee.
Some points to remember - if you see an animal in need, first, take down as much information as you can. Date, time, address, location of the animal. Take pictures, and then call the appropriate agency. If the county you are in does not have animal control or you can’t get ahold of them - call your police/sheriff’s dept.
And be sure to follow up if nothing has been done. Our emergency personnel are going to be super busy the next few days and overwhelmed.
Remember - if you are cold, THEY are cold.
